## Buying and licenses

### How many Macs can one key use?

One key works on 3 Macs at a time. To switch Macs, remove the old one on the Account page, then enter the key on the new Mac.

### How do I move my license to a new Mac?

Sign in to the Account page, remove the old Mac, then enter your key on the new one.

### I lost my key. What now?

Sign in to the Account page with the address you bought with (through the link we e-mail you); the key is always there.

### Do I need a subscription?

No. You pay once: the key never expires and you get every update for life, new major versions included.

### Are updates free?

Yes, for life: every future release, new major versions included. The app checks for new versions and offers to install them.

## Setup and use

### How does the trial work?

Download and open the app: every Mac gets a 14-day trial with no account or card. When it ends, features lock until you enter a key.

### Will it run on my Mac?

You need macOS 15 Sequoia or later on an Apple silicon or Intel Mac (Intel is supported at build level).

### Does it work on Macs without a notch or on external displays?

Yes. PFCove draws a virtual notch at the top edge of the screen, and you can resize it. Pick the display it shows on; when you plug in or unplug a screen, the app rearranges itself.

### Can I see my AirPods battery?

Yes. When your AirPods connect, the notch shows a turning 3D icon and the battery of each earbud. The case appears only when macOS reports it, usually while the earbuds are inside.

### Will it slow my Mac down?

No. Measured on a MacBook Pro M4: about 0.01% CPU when idle, 0.07% while music plays with the notch closed and about 2% with the notch open. The waveform that follows the real audio costs more (about 4.4%), so it is off by default.

## Payment and refunds

### How can I pay?

By card through Paddle, our reseller (US dollars); Paddle's checkout also offers PayPal and Apple Pay. On the Vietnamese site you can also pay by bank transfer with a VietQR code (dong).

### How soon do I get my key?

It is e-mailed as soon as the payment is confirmed. Bank transfers are confirmed automatically when the money arrives.

### Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 14 days of purchase, whichever way you paid. The key is revoked when the refund is made. How to ask is in the refund policy.

## Privacy

### What does the app send to the server?

When it starts a trial, activates or refreshes a license: a one-way pseudonym of your Mac, its name, and the app and macOS versions (with the request's IP address). Calendar content, Focus and audio never leave your Mac; when a track has no artwork, the artist and album names may be sent to Apple to find it (you can turn this off in Settings).

### Does the weather use my location?

Weather is off by default. When you turn it on, the app sends only rounded coordinates (about 1 km) to the weather service. Every service that uses your location is listed in the privacy policy.
